There are two alternatives for moving your households. If you plan to move overseas, you can move your house hold by sea or by air. There are many advantages and disadvantages of both the options. The obvious advantage of moving by sea is cost, but it takes much longer time than by air. Don’t take a quick decision but after weighing the pros and cons of both options, you can decide how you move your household to other country.
Packing
Packing for usual inter city moving and overseas moving are very different, due to the distance and the mode of traveling. You have to do the packing accordingly.
If you have decided to move your house holds by sea, than your household should be packed in to the containers. These containers are specially made from the special wood which makes them sea worthy. These containers are usually loaded at your old residence. There are professionals who do the packing of your household in to the containers. Once all the containers are ready than you have to transport them to port. This can be done by either road transport or through railways. After your container arrives at the dock, they are than loaded in to the ship.
After arriving in the destination country, your containers are unloaded. You must know the general custom and other rules of the destination country, so that you can clear your containers quickly and easily. You may take help of international movers who will also guide you with customs. Usually you have to fill up lots of forms and give lots of information to customs, before your containers are released. There are some broker and agents also, who is specialized to do this type of job that is clearing of goods from customs. They will perform all the formalities on behalf of you.
Moving your household by air requires you to pack your household in to heavy card board boxes. The only advice is reducing the weight of your movables.
